(Columbia, SC) –South Carolina Congressman James E. Clyburn announced today that South Carolina’s Department of Health and Environment Control (DHEC) will be receiving more than $2.2 million from the Department of Health and Human Services for maternal and child health services.
This grant announcement comes after a September announcement where DHEC received over $4.6 million to expand primary healthcare services. The newest grant will allow for discretionary health services to be expanded at DHEC for mothers and children.
“I am pleased to see South Carolina continuing to receive federal assistance to grow and improve our health services,” Congressman Clyburn said. “Taking care of our children in South Carolina needs to be the state’s number one priority and striving to make sure the necessary aid is available to keep them healthy is critical.”
