(Columbia) – Congressman Jim Clyburn will deliver the 2014 Philip G. Grose Lecture in partnership with the Southern Studies department at the University of South Carolina.
The lecture will begin at 6pm in the Booker T. Washington Auditorium, 1400 Wheat Street, on Wednesday, March 19.
The event is free and open to the public.
The Philip G. Grose Lecture in Southern Studies honors Phil Grose, who was a longtime research associate with the University of South Carolina's Institute for Southern Studies. He was the author of two books — South Carolina at the Brink: Robert McNair and the Politics of Civil Rights and Looking for Utopia: The Life and Times of John C. West.
