On Tuesday, June 23, 2020 House Majority Whip James E. Clyburn will host a webinar to publicly release South Carolina’s new broadband maps, the result of an innovative public-private collaboration. South Carolina’s new broadband maps are some of the most accurate and current maps of broadband service in the country, and will help policymakers at the state and federal level target resources to address inequities in internet access and adoption that have been exacerbated by the current health crisis.
These maps of broadband service availability and speeds – covering all 46 counties – are available via the nation’s first broadband map store and can be accessed and downloaded for free. They were developed by utilizing advanced data science to blend public FCC Form 477 data together with Ookla® Speedtest Intelligence®.
This webinar will provide a live demonstration of Speedtest, mapping methodology, and the broadband map store.
WHAT: Webinar debuting nation’s most accurate and up-to-date broadband maps and a tutorial on how to use them.
