WASHINGTON – U.S. House Assistant Democratic Leader James E. Clyburn released the following statement about today’s announcement by the Social Security Administration that beneficiaries will receive a Cost-Of-Living-Adjustment (COLA) next year:
“I am pleased America’s 55 million Social Security beneficiaries will receive a 3.6 percent COLA increase starting in January. I’ve met with seniors across South Carolina in recent months, and I know many of them rely on Social Security to keep their heads above water. This new Social Security COLA will help seniors across the country weather these tough economic times.”
