Congressman Clyburn Requests Funding for South Carolina Surface Transportation Projects

Each Member of Congress is allowed to submit funding requests for highway and transit projects to the House Committee on Transportation & Infrastructure to be considered for inclusion in upcoming surface transportation authorization. Requests for funding can only be made for projects that are included in or eligible to be included in State, Tribal, or territorial transportation improvement programs (STIP) or metropolitan transportation improvement programs (TIP). Projects must also have support from the State department of transportation, local government, transit agency, or other non-Federal sponsor.

Sixth District Congressman James E. Clyburn has requested funding for surface transportation projects that, if included, would fund up to $20 million of projects in South Carolina. The requests are listed below.
